So i read the latest ILPS statement on Tibet, written by none other than the dearest Chairman himself, Joma Sison. As a "deactivated" activist who used to be so gung-ho with ND organizations, i'm so appalled how off his analysis is. The first line goes like this: The movement represented by the Dalai Lama is utterly reactionary... ( read further here). Reaction is supposed to be the opposite of Revolution, and China is anything but revolutionary. I'm surprised how this senile schmuck could've been so off lately, hmm i guess dozing off a lot these days have eaten his maoist magic away. fortunately i'm not alone for i found this blog (writen by someone still active on the radical left of center) who's bright enough not to drink the koolaid. So I wish upon the red star that pinoy activists who believe the BS faster than China could say to the Dalai Lama: All your dreams are dead, would consider. After all, the movement is not a cult, it's a movement...or is it??? tantadada!for culture, language and religion, still is a struggle. Free Tibet!

Free Tibet!
"senile smuck"? be careful with your choice of words, I hope you have enough basis to cover that.
Just FYI, the ILPS statement is NOT AN INDIVIDUAL OPINION, have you an idea how many mass organizations all over the world ILPS represents? The statement is a result of a consensus perspective that included ANSWER, IAC, etc. etc.
Maybe you ought to do some research yourself on the matter rather than "reacting" to a particular statement, of an international alliance that is, NOT AN INDIVIDUAL.
"No investigation, no right to speak".
Since you blogged this publicly, I hope you don't mind me forwarding it to the ILPS? |
 | Now this is SO pathetic.
I never imagined you can get this low.
hmmm, i guess you're the one dozing off a lot these days, eh? |
 | Tell that to yourself, dear. &;p |
 | Ahaha. Isa pa 'tong sensitive. Hay jusko. Get some fresh air, mah dear. &;p |
 | don't worry i get a lot of fresh air these days, since i travel around the potomac area everyday. nothing beats the virginia suburbs + a cigarette stick. |
 | Let a thousand flowers bloom. continue the debate. But make arguments grounded and substantial. Don't bite each other's ear off. Then we'll see how far we can go. Looking forward to 'reading' your thoughts. :-) |
 | Haha! Ok, sige sabi mo eh. And I hope that clears your head and stop (or at least try to lessen) calling people names, whether it be the "senile shmuck" you're talking about or the next cranky guy in the deli who'll sell you those cigarettes. And if you want to debate about this, do it upfront with the one you're calling "senile shmuck". I'm sure he'll be glad to accomodate you. |
 | Oh sorry, that was "schmuck" pala, with a "c". Sorry ha, 'di kasi ako perfect. Ahaha. |

I'm sure he'll be glad to accomodate you. look we can call gloria and cohorts the most outrageous epithets ever (murder, bitch, fascist, genociderist?, etc.), and we don't even blink for a sec even if those name callings and accusations can be downright slanderous. so do bush and even the bourgeois icons of the world get to be described with the most unflattering adjectives, but the world doesn't flinch every time it happens. im not defending the evildoers nor would i get myself into an ACLU type of freedom of speech defense. but the gist of this whole thing, is something important which should be more discussed.
im not apologetic for the type of language used here to make a statement, since the old guy is a public figure, he has been called exponentially worse names, secondly and i hate to point this out, it's actually called sarcastic humour and thirdly, the very reason why i utilized this type of humor is to prove that he is not infallible/untouchable/omnipotent and for people to react on the bait with those buzzwords only proves my point how we need to reform some of our attitudes toward our leadership.

 | Sorry, dear. But I don't really drink koolaid in the first place. I only drink water. What else are you supposed to call them when they're exactly just what they're being called? The world doesn't flinch because IT IS TRUE. Can you prove otherwise? And to call Joma as a "senile schmuck", I echo Kuya Gary. "No investigation, no right to speak." Sorry but I honestly find your statement -- if you can even call that a "statement" -- very cowardly. I really hope you see the big difference between these two. im not apologetic for the type of language used here to make a statement, since the old guy is a public figure, he has been called exponentially worse names Oh yah? At least, I think not by supposed "kasamas". secondly and i hate to point this out, it's actually called sarcastic humour Don't worry, dear. I thought so, too. thirdly, the very reason why i utilized this type of humor is to prove that he is not infallible/untouchable/omnipotent and for people to react on the bait with those buzzwords only proves my point how we need to reform some of our attitudes toward our leadership. | arsikoi wrote on Apr 24, edited on Apr 24 Point very well taken, I agree someone needs to reform their attitudes. Someone really need it badly. | arsikoi wrote on Apr 24, edited on Apr 24 point very well taken, dear. there you go, you're all fired up now. well of course as always. the fanciful world u live in thrives in a constant double speak. to acknowledge the humorous tone albeit sarcastically while complaining that it isn't a "statement" and done "very cowardly" is double speak. you don't think twice how hurtful or truthful every accusations you throw out to your enemies. and as ive said im not defending evildoers just analyzing introspectively if we're fair game. you raise a red flag and hell break loose even though senile nor schmuck doesn't add up anything substantial as an "accusative" statement but a mere wordplay of a conjured scenario (...of him dozing off). so if you guys think that more of the same maoist rhetoric works on me ( ...no right to speak?)...your very very wrong.
And if "kasamas" would rather object to a bunch of adjectives rather than talk about the real issue of my STATEMENT: his wrong stance on tibet.

That's because I don't find anything wrong with the "ILPS" statement. If anything, it's actually sharp. And excuse me but if you look at your "statement", it doesn't actually say anything. Did you even try to point out what was wrong with the statement? NO. Instead, you proceeded with the name-calling without even really saying what you think is wrong with the statement. So I don't really consider it a "statement" but just a mere "reaction". Again, sorry but I believe Kuya Gary had a point. "point very well taken"??? ...NOT. Kami, resolbado kami. Ewan ko lang ikaw. |

i say its fair game after all, i too was once a preacher...of the gospels of grassroots politics. And I quote: "32 Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
33With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
34There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold.
35They laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need."
Acts 4:32-37 Even the Bible teaches of the same principle as we believe. i say its fair game after all, i too was once a preacher...of the gospels of grassroots politics. Are you still? Seems to me like you've lost all your principles with everything you have said in this thread. Sad to say, but it shows. |

So think twice in dissecting quotes without considering context, after all its just another literary work for believers of woo-woo.
if you mean YOUR principles yes. but you don't hold monopoly to principles nor define as what the ultimate correct one is. unless you swear to yours as the absolute one and only path to human salvation. if you do so, there is no need for debate or this lengthy exchange, for you will only thrive by means of preaching.

"im not religious nor am i sure if i believe in god but there's a wonderful biblical passage in response to that"
Unlike you, i disclaim and removed myself from the original religious context of the passage and used it only as a response from your earlier contention using the quotation's naked value. Have you read the passages before and after Acts 4:32-35? I guess not, cause you are ignorant of it's context. That passage you quoted do not refer to socialism and/or proletarian collectivity, which you are trying to imply. So yeah, "tungaw" ako no?
