Thanks to my geneologist friend, i have discovered the 7 generations of the Chavez family in the old Spanish pueblo of Argao in southern Cebu. Fortunately, even with the 2nd world war, the town of Argao retained most of her church records and other official spanish documents. The Chavez family is one among the 200 hereditary principalia families (e.g. Davide's, Quintanar's, Flores', Villamor's) among the 4,000 recorded family names in Argao.
Recently my geneologist friend came back from his research in the historical archives of Manila and found the signature of my great-great-great grand father Don Victoriano Chavez. I am astounded.
